The mine completion group has a comprehensive program that manages several former mine sites and addresses issues of environmental and public safety.
The Department of State Development's Mine Completion Group:
- develops and implements policy and processes related to the government's role in adopting the Ministerial Council on Mineral and Petroleum Resources' (MCMPR) Strategic Framework for Mine Closure
- develops management arrangements for strategic Extractive Areas Rehabilitation Fund issues
for new and existing mining operations.
